1950s Shopping Centre Research: The Bull Ring

The Bull Ring Shopping Centre is at the heart of Birmingham and was designed in the 1950s as a brand new challenging design as one of the first multistory shopping centres. The Bull Ring is still one of the largest shopping centres today and its design has changed over the years following the influential styles of the past 60 years.

When researching 1950s design I came across a series of videos filmed by the Birmingham Mail, the local paper, which followed the construction and development of the shopping centre. Unfortunately I cant get the videos to upload to this blog, however here are the links:

  1. The Bull Ring is the symbol of Birmingham. A lot of people come to the city every year just to visit it.
Birmingham has other attractions, too. It is wonderful for a family holiday or a holiday with friends.
