Essay introduction
This assignment will critically analyse the film ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ directed by Guillermo Del
Toro, in terms of the relationship between story and structure, focusing heavily
on Narrative, Narrative structure and camera movement. This will also include
camera movement and editing such as cutting, dissolving, cross dissolving and a
‘panning cut’ which is a technique where the camera pans through an abject such
as a wall, and continues to pan straight into another shot or scene. This technique
is used often in ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’. Direct
